People of Jamaica | Artist Basil Watson

In Jamaica, we believe we can accomplish great things, and therefore, we do. It’s that spirit of freedom and unyielding confidence that defines who we are as a people. Basil Watson is uniquely attuned to this distinction and has artfully captured it in his many sculptures exhibited throughout Jamaica. His tribute to our Jamaican heroes may be crafted from materials like bronze and stone, but when you stand before them and feel their energy, you can begin to appreciate what this country is all about.
